May not be anime related but I really feel like ranting on this. I mean this site which is a labour of love means a lot to me and I hope to get many users to use it.
As part of my plans to get the site noticed I put all these cool features in but unfortunatly my CMS system makes URLs longer than the Great Wall of China. So Physicist and I had a talk and decided it would be best if we install an SEO component to make things more noticable.

so what happened?
Well at first it installed and all was well, we refreshed the site and crap, template wasnt registering, no images, url was good though. I left the repair jobs partly to Physicist as I tried fixing some other areas it had damaged.

Physicist did a fantastic job and got the SEOs working without effecting other areas....or so we thought. Since installing it we had to repair the video upload system, template chooser (which for a while we thought was gone for good), the html editor users use to put articles in. I had to fix bugs in the profiles.. the list goes on.

However having both spent last week tweeking it we dare say now all the bugs (that we found) have been fixed and the SEOs are working well. We are getting a fair few hits on google now and through out image board.

That said, I think I will think twice before installing an SEO component...or I shall install one BEFORE building a site.

The problem with things like Joomla which can have loads of various components added is that there are bound to be conflicts between them. And seeing as the SEO one affects all of them, it would be more surprising if everything just worked. SEO _link_s are very important, though, so definitely always use them.
