Speed Racer, made by the infamous Wachowski botrhers who brought us the 'Matrix Trilogy', was out in American theatres last Friday (the 9th May) and only made $20 million dollars, in comparisson to the expected $30+ million, and the film is now being classed as a flop.

 So it appears my predictions about this movie are true, but it makes me feel even more aprehensive about the release of the Dragonball and Evangelion movie, and how financially viable these so called Box office hits are going to be.

However, the Dragonball is being directed by a famous Japanese director, James Wong, so theoretically the film does still ahve potential, so long as the American producers don't have too much to do with the film. 

So perhaps not all of these live action films are destined for failure, however with the recent results, it looks less than promising.  I myself would love to see a successful live action movie over here in the UK, so I'm not ruling them out at the moment, but once again, only time shall tell.
