So it has come to this, first GX and now this. Sometimes I wonder if Kazuki still actually has any part in the Yugioh world these days.
I was shocked like many fans to learn that GX is ending this month. This is a shame as the series had finally allowed its characters to grow and one had hoped the academy concept would end and we would end up with a show more like the original. Turns out this will not be the case.
Instead we are to be greeted by a new series called Yugioh 5Ds, a futuristic yugioh world where characters play childrens card games on motobikes whilst they try to become the next king of games in futuristic city of neo Domino.
As one can imagine, many fans are taking the opportunity to poke fun at what almost seems like a random concept being pulled out of a hat. How one can devise a concept of cardgames and bikes God only knows. It was pleasant to see this weeks amazing Yugioh abridged series too joined in the debate game.
Now that anime has been around in Western culture for a good few years, we can see just exactly what influences it has had on us. These days many western cartoons parody those of anime, and in turn are then parodied within other animes. Does western culture now influence Japanese animation?
